It looks like a facepalm to me. [she pauses for a moment, almost like she's thinking about it, before she grins - one of those shiteating grins] Like it's already preparing for all the stupidity that'll go on around here.
[because there's teenagers, and that's a magnet for stupid]
And here I thought we were here to save the world. [ kind of an ignorant statement, given the fact that there are several worlds represented here, but. that's cooper for you. sometimes. ]
That could happen too. You've never seen an anime, have you.
[in those, somehow, the stupid boy main character always somehow finds a way to save the world. Then again, comparing their situation to that is . . . well. She isn't being serious, at least]
[her human friends back home would be so proud of her, explaining what anime is and all that]
It's another word for Japanese animation. There's a number of them based on less-than-intelligent protagonists who somehow manage to save the world, all while doing stupid things along the way.
[He's wearing a CDC cuff around his neck. The interface would glow orange, if he were using it. At least with Orange he won't be on the front line - hopefully.]
[she isn't about to stop him; cats do what they want, and whether or not he's really a cat, well . . . it'd be rude to ask. So she just lifts a hand to wave]
She's heard that question so many times today that she automatically answers, rather than hesitates like she normally would. It was nice, to be open about what she was, in a way.
"I'm an Enforcer - we basically protect humans from the supernatural." It was the shortest answer she could give. Just because she could be more open didn't change the fact that she'd be a little bit of a shit about giving answers.
He doesn't even know what to do with this information. Aliens he can subscribe to. That's just playing the statistics game, really. Somewhere there had to be life. But ghosts? That was asking a little much. He makes no effort to hide the skepticism on his face for this one.
"Vampires don't really frequent Japan, they prefer Europe." She sounds amused as she says it, the corner of her mouth quirking. "I usually deal with ghosts and lesser demons, or misguided spirits."
But she understands the skepticism. She tilts her head, and after a moment she adds, "But if you want to think of me as a ghost hunter, that works too."
as a I cruse fate that Ghost Buster would be 4th walling
"Probably not the best word choice, given boss-nameage. How about 'Poltergeist Wrangler.'"
He's still not convinced, but what the heck. It's a benign enough kind of insanity either way. He's not a demon ghost, so figures he's probably safe sleeping around the guy either way.
That makes her snort. "Paranormal investigator, then. Because I do investigate into whatever I'm after first."
Though, being safe around her while sleeping is a truth. "Though, you'll be relieved that I haven't run into or felt any of those kind of things here, yet." Yet being the keyword.
I wish I could explain it better than that, but. [she shrugs a shoulder] That world's adopted a lot of things from the human world, that being one of them. It takes a lot of energy to get back there if you can't find one of the entrances in.
@blackhand
Being normal is pretty boring anyway, isn't it?
[she grins back, a little one, and rests her elbows on the table and her chin on her hands]

You're talking to someone who prefers to be awake at night rather than day. [A beat.] What do you think?
no subject
I've never been normal. So I guess saying that makes me a little biased.

[And the stealing he does in it. If anything, Garrett is incredibly good at blending into the shadows.]

[technically, she's a creature of the night. That's when humans dream the most, after all]

You know, I can't say that I have.

What team are you on? [because she doubts he's just a stray - she hasn't seen any cats around here]

In that case I'm certain we'll meet again, Baku.

I'll see you around.

It's nice to meet you, Natasha. [and without missing a beat] I'm a baku, Earth, 2014.

That's not a name.
[ Black Widow, Natalia Romanova, Natasha Romanoff; yeah, she knows all about those. And 'a' isn't a categorizer for a name. ]
