Consignment | Hi can I eat your dreams

So, tl;dr (app for details) Baku is a creature that eats nightmares and bad dreams. She needs to do so and keep herself fairly well-fed or else uh, she eats regular dreams and drains a person until they're an empty shell. OOPS.

She's also able to "sense" who has the sort of nightmares she needs to eat. Meaning, if you're prone to nightmares, you're a huge beacon to Baku. And she may approach you about it, if things get a little desperate.

HOWEVER, she needs permission to do this. This can be anything from "Hey Baku can you eat my nightmares" or a broad "MAN I WISH THESE NIGHTMARES WOULD GO AWAY" loophole that Baku can exploit. Either way, the result is you wake up the next morning free of nightmares, and with the faintest impression that Baku was there.

So what I'm asking is!

1. Can Baku approach your character about their nightmares? (This will generally be done in private, she more than understands what comes with that territory)
2. Would your character say something that would fall into the "I CAN EXPLOIT THIS" loophole?

Feel free to ask any questions, too! And thank you in advance. ♥

Carla will be having on and off dreams about being back in her zombie apocalypse homeworld. It will annoy the hell out of her because she generally thinks she's above being affected by even the most terrible of experiences... so she'd actually be pretty in to having that shit eaten.

1. Awwww sure
2. WELP he has several nightmares about wars and battles and bloodshed and the whole 'I'M THE ARMY STRATEGIST THEY DIED AND IT'S MY FAAAAULT' woe is me spiel and also he's killed a ton of people just so you know

He never really tells anyone he has them, though... but she can probably tell because he's a fucking noisy sleeper and he'll spill if she questions him, he just downplays it like a motherfucker and be all 'HAHA WOW IT'D BE GREAT IF THEY'D JUST DISAPPEAR RIIIIGHT'

i. sure she can! they're on the same team so i imagine it might happen sooner or later. when he does sleep, he usually has nightmares regarding necromorphs, and the incident on the sprawl and the ishimura.
ii. not sure if he'd say too much about it, though if questioned, he'd probably admit it because damn having that shit go away would be fantastic u - u

temeraire would do both, probably with nightmares about how a. his captain is doing without him, b. his captain abandoning him, or c. both.

1. Yes.
2. He's not likely to say something on his own, but if she brings it up...
spasmodic: (i'm beginning to like this kid.)

whoops i thought i did this

[personal profile] spasmodic 2014-05-07 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
1. Go for it, it's not like he's gonna bring them up easily.
2. He'd do an awful lot to get rid of them, I'm sure he'd say something along the lines of the latter! sweet diddly bob they suck

1. Yes. Totally. Let's fighting CR.

2. He has big issues at home, but he's unlikely to say anything too specific about them. He'll talk about the in-game situation, though, and honestly that will eclipse his home life pretty fast because *he's going to die wtf*. Honestly, you only have to look at him to guess there are worms under the surface.

As to what he nightmares about - I don't know if he nightmares, exactly, but he definitely has bad dreams, stressful dreams. He outright nightmared about Gliese on the TDM, and about being chased; I don't see that going away. He has longterm dreams about being trapped and cornered. Wires overhead, that sort of thing. tl;dr yes let's do something.

1. Yes

2. He'd agree, though it'd most likely be in sarcasm. Even if she approached him and showed that she knows about his nightmares, he'd probably not buy into the idea that she could make them disappear. I guess it depends how candid the consent has to be.

1. YES
2. YES though she might have to bring it up first. He'll be a bit grumpy but otherwise, he knows he doesn't sleep very well.

She is more than welcome to eat Rapunzel's! They're mostly about heights and falling and BEING FOREVER ALONE so as far as nightmares go, they're ridiculously tame.

1. Yes please. The will be in close quarters, so she's free to notice he's a very restless sleeper. Talking 4 hours a night at most, here.
2. Possibly? Since they will be interacting right off the bat I think we can work something out in game!

1. håkon technically doesn't need sleep! well technically he's just a ball of energy in a human-shaped thing, but those are details... HOWEVER he can artificially induce his organs to work and manipulate himself into sleeping and dreaming, because he has some kind of a freakish control over his biology, which means--
2. he can make himself have nightmares, and those nightmares tend to be about war and people dying and killing people etc. if baku ever needs a convenient food source, håkon's happy to oblige, so long as they agree to play twenty questions and he gets sass along the way. 'sall cool in the land of supernatural creatures :|a
sponsorigami: Edward and Ivan talking (砂 And then she said "Call me maybe")

[personal profile] sponsorigami 2014-05-09 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
1. Yes, she can
2. Yes, he would, especially if she mentions that she needs to do so to survive and avoid a worse fate

Ivan's nightmares are probably going to be about destroying worlds and also things that involve his friend Edward.

1. Sure thing! At this point I think the dreams Obi-Wan will be having are going to involve Order 66's aftermath, and occur almost nightly--which would probably be pretty noticeable, yes!

2. Honestly, if Baku simply clarifies that she needs them for sustenance, and he gets confirmation that nothing else happens to the mind apart from the dream-purging? He'd agree gladly enough anyway. Those dreams are not fun :c Otherwise yeah he'd agree about getting rid of them as a general rule, because nobody likes bad dreams man.

1. absolutely! elena's got more than enough nightmare fuel in her life to keep baku full -- she's lost nine family members/friends in the past three years, she's died three times, once by being drained of blood, once by drowning, and once by fiery explosion, she's been kidnapped seven times and used for her magical blood four times, tortured once, set on fire once... basically she's got a lot of terrible shit to dream about.

2. to be honest if baku out and out asked she would be more than happy to say yes, both because she understands what it's like to need sustenance from other people (vampires, woo) and because her nightmares are the fucking worst.

1) Yes! Troll as a species actually traditionally have to sedate themselves to get a good rest because their subconscious is so filled with violence and bloodshed it's pretty much all nightmares all the time otherwise. Realistically, she'd be doing him a huge favour.

2) If she told him she could do that he would straight up say yes.
